White Acrylic Exterior Wood Stain Blocking Primer - 1 Gallon

A versatile acrylic latex stain blocking primer is ideal for wood, masonry, and previously painted surfaces. It effectively primes and seals new cedar and redwood, drying dust-free in just 30 minutes. This water-thinned primer is resistant to blistering and peeling, with high hiding capabilities. It is suitable for use on unpainted galvanized metal, as well as masonry and wood surfaces.

With excellent stain-blocking properties, this primer is perfect for exterior applications such as siding, trim, fascia, fences, and gutters. It effectively seals staining woods like cedar and redwood with just two coats. Additionally, it can be easily top-coated with latex or oil finishes.

This multi-purpose latex exterior primer is designed to block tannin stains on new or weathered exterior wood surfaces. It is also an excellent choice for masonry surfaces like stucco or concrete block. Low in VOC, this water-thinned primer is resistant to blistering and peeling, while providing high hiding capabilities.

It can be applied in low temperatures above 35 °F (1. 7 °C), but caution is advised not to use it within 8 hours of air temperatures dropping to 35 °F (1. 7 °C) or lower. To complete the application, top-coat with latex or alkyd paints. Each gallon of this primer provides coverage for 300 - 400 square feet.

For optimal results, avoid applying this primer on a hot surface or if rain is threatening. Similarly, do not apply if the temperature is within 5° of the dew point to ensure a successful application process.
