INSL-X Prime Lock Plus Alkyd Primer, 1 Gallon, White

Prime Lock Plus is a high hiding, alkyd based, interior primer, sealer, and stain blocker designed for interior paint applications and spot coating outdoor surfaces. This versatile house paint primer is perfect for plaster, drywall, wood, and previously painted or varnished surfaces. It can easily be top coated with any oil or latex paint, providing excellent enamel holdout without raising wood grain.

This primer is highly effective for covering up “bleed through” from fire and smoke damage, water stains, wood tannin, crayon marks, lipstick stains, ballpoint pen marks, and felt pad inks. For severe water stains, an additional coat of Prime Lock Plus may be necessary before applying the finish coat. Pine knots should be spot primed with pure shellac before using Prime Lock Plus for optimal results.

Prime Lock Plus is also recommended for sealing burned or charred wood, serving as an enamel under-coat prior to applying latex or oil topcoats, and sealing common bleeding type wood stains. It is an excellent choice as a primer for drywall or plaster before painting or wallpapering, locking in household stains like food and grease.

With its superior adhesion over glossy surfaces, this fast-drying, multi-purpose alkyd primer and sealer is perfect for covering a variety of substrates and hard-to-block stains. Prime Lock Plus offers quick drying time, allowing for re-coating in as little as 1 hour. Each gallon provides coverage for 300-350 square feet, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency. For best results, apply this primer when the temperature is above 45 °F (7.2 °C), and avoid painting if the surface temperature is within 5 degrees of the dew point.
